Welcome to Bearly Edible, a recipe, entertaining and kitchen tips blog. The explosion of blogs and social networking sites has taken the internet to a new dimension over the past few years. It only seemed fitting that there be a community for gay bearish men who love to cook and entertain. The contributors of this site identify themselves as members and friends of the bear community.
The inspiration for this blog comes from my friends in northeast Ohio. My partner Brett and I have a close knit circle of friends who we socialize with regularly. Our gatherings are usually game nights with dominoes or cards. Dinners, potlucks and parties round out our social schedule. Central to all of these events is food. Bears are excellent cooks and exchanging recipes is common.
I am relying on my friends culinary and entertaining talents as the bricks and mortar of this blog. Their recipes are what drive the blog’s success. I hope to give them a place to share their gifts to a wider audience. As this on-line community evolves and grows, I see the numbers of contributors growing, as well as, the diversity of the recipes.
Bearly Edible is based on an editorial calendar. Each week a recipe topic will be introduced and our contributing bear chefs will be invited to share a favorite recipe or two. The topics will vary widely and often be based on the season or holiday. At other times, the topics will be just plain fun. You will have to visit us each week to see what’s cooking in our kitchens this week.
